Director and Sociologist on OssCom – Communication Observatory in the University Cattolica in Milan.
Head of the Osservatorio sulla Comunicazione of the Università Cattolica of Milan and coordinator of the Sezione Processi e Istituzioni Culturali of the Associazione Italiana di Sociologia.
For the intragovernamental european network COST (European Cooperation for Science and Technology) he has been the Italian representative for three different projects:
“Impact of the Internet on the traditional media”, coordinating the working group Television and Films
“East of West: Setting of a New Central and Eastern European Media Research Agenda”
“Transforming Audiences, Transforming Societies”.
Colombo is a member of the Scientific Committee of the CELSA (Université Paris IV, Sorbonne). He was an assessor for the University degrees in the context of the CRUI project, he is PRIN and FIRB assessor for the European Research Council and referee for a number of Italian and International journals.
Together with Guido Gili, he is responsible of the Sociology section for the publishing house La Scuola.
He is member of the publishing committee of “Comunicazioni Sociali. Rivista di Media, Spettacolo e Studi Culturali” and of “Communication et langage”.
