Venice Art Biennale 2022. San Servolo hosts the Cuba and Syrian Arab Republic Pavilions.

During the 59th International Art Exhibition of  Venice Biennale, from April 22nd until November 27th 2022, San Servolo island has been chosen to host the Cuba and Syrian Arab Republic to host their pavilions.

The Cuban Pavilion, curated by Nelson Ramirez de Arellano Conde presents the collective exhibition “TERRA IGNOTA. Proposals for a New World ”with works by the artists Rafael Villares, Giuseppe Stampone and Kcho.

The Syrian Arab Republic Pavilion presents the project “The Syrian People: a Common Destiny”, curated by Emad Kashout. Participating artists: Saousan Alzubi, Ismaiel Nastra, Adnan Hamideh, Omran Younis, Aksan Tallaa, Giuseppe Amadio, Lorenzo Puglisi, Marcello Lo Giudice, Hannu Palosuo.

These installations involve San Servolo in the events program of the Venice Art Biennale 2022 in the Venetian lagoon, but also reconfirm the island’s deep bond with culture.

Moreover, the artistic vocation of San Servolo is not new. Inside, works of art are hosted permanently and the island is often chosen for cultural performances and workshops.

For meeting planners this time offers one more opportunity to organize a meeting at the San Servolo Conference Centre which offers 12 different-sized meeting rooms and a large outdoor area of ​​the island.

From 22 April to 27 November 2022
from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11.00 am to4.00 pm. Monday closed

The venue:
San Servolo Conference Centre is located on an island in the Venetian Lagoon, formerly used as a monastery. It has 11 meeting rooms that can seat 15-240 people and 173 guest rooms. The island is also home to the VIU-Venice International University and permanently hosts some works of art.
