September 2020

MPI Movie Charity 2020

The 7th edition of the charity auction organized by MPI Italia Chapter during Venice Film Festival held on September 11th. Also virtual.

For the 7th year in a row, MPI Italia Chapter promotes a charity auction during Venice Film Festival.
The event is a particularly important symbolic moment this year as it marks the restart of the event industry, coinciding with the first major post-Covid-19 event.
And the proceeds from the auction will be given to MPI Foundation to support the meeting industry and its operators and provide concrete help to young professionals in the sector.

Main sponsors of this 7th edition is ENIT. Sensitive to the events industry cause, the national tourism organization considered it important to make a move in support of the sector.

Enit is attentive to every opportunity to relaunch the image of Italy and support the tourism sector” – declares Maria Elena Rossi, ENIT Marketing Director – “In the world ranking of congress tourism, pre-Covid Italy placed among the first six countries in the world with 550 international meetings in 2019 (ENIT based on ICCA data) with a growth of 5.4%. The event promoted by MPI Italia as part of Italy’s first major post-Covid showcase, Venice Film Festival, was appreciated as a relevant initiative with respect to a line of action that we have implemented to tackle this phase of uncertainty. From October we will launch workshops in 12 countries – Austria, Canada, China, South Korea, Germany, Japan, Great Britain, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA – to amplify the promotion of MICE, luxury, leisure and active events. Our commitment to MICE will continue in November, focusing on sustainability, innovation and seasonal adjustment. The congress is a rapidly expanding and crucial sector for Italy. With The Movie Charity Auction, we strengthen our commitment to support the meeting industry.

The live event is scheduled for September 11th from 8.00 pm and will be held by Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo, at Hotel Excelsior on the beach at Venice Lido.
The pandemic emergency has prompted the organization and MPI Italia to innovate the format to make it accessible even to those who cannot participate in person. What is new in 2020 is the website www.themoviecharity.it where it is already possible to preview the vouchers at auction and make your offer.

“It is truly a great satisfaction for those who create an event that it becomes a tradition. With the seventh edition for MPI Foundation and the hundreds of participation requests, I think I have reached the goal, alongside MPI Italia, and with the important innovations that will allow us to expand the event audience and increase the proceeds to be donated, this edition looks exciting. ” – declares Mauro Bernardini, creator of the event, and concludes – “I thank all the organizing partners, from BeAcademy to Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo, and last but not least all the sponsors, without whom we could not succeed in our task”.

As President of MPI Italy I am happy to have seen this prestigious event grow year by year, always for a noble cause.” – comments Maddalena Milone, President of MPI Italia – “This event saw more and more conferences and leisure hotels together, which offered vouchers through which we raised funds to support important associations. The fear of having to give up on the event this year gave us the opportunity to implement it with an auction to be held online, with greater visibility for sponsors and greater adhesion even remotely. “- and concludes -” We thank ENIT for the prestigious partnership that has further confirmed the value of the international spirit of our community and the importance of events for the growth and economy of the country “.

The event, which has already sold out the in-person seats available, will also be broadcast live on the Facebook page of MPI ItaliaChapter
