BIT 2017: New Location, New Dates, New Contents

June 2016

Preview on the International Travel Exhibition: FieraMilanoCity, April 2nd – 4th 2017

A lot of news for the next edition of BIT (International Travel Exhibition), starting from calendar and location: the 2017 edition will take place at FieraMilanoCity from Sunday 2nd to Tuesday 4th April, the ideal period to meet the travel agencies’ requests.

BIT has moved to FieraMilanoCity, with direct connection to the Highways and the adjacent M5 subway station, thus making the event more accessible and lively. Most importantly, Bit is now right in Milan, unlike the previous years when it was located at Rho fair, far from the city center.

In addition to the four Leisure, Luxury, MICE and Sport areas, there will be three itineraries dedicated to emerging sectors: Wine and Food Tourism, an Italian excellence; Wedding, Italy is one of the most popular choices in this regard; and Digital, a constantly evolving sector.
The three itineraries will be developed in the following months and will also be enriched by a series of experiential spaces with perfumes, flavors, sounds and images.

BIT confirms its investment on hosted buyers, who generated more than 16,000 contacts in 2016. The 20-minute morning speedy meetings will be extended also to travel bloggers, in order to give the exhibitors the opportunity to contact these important web influencers.

Finally, a series of initiatives to promote the cooperation between travel agencies. Moreover, a rich program of workshops focused on the key issues of the market.
A new promotional campaign will be launched shortly.

“This edition – FieraMilano CEO Corrado Peraboni, explains – represents a radical change for BIT. Over the last few years we have tried to listen to the market, both through direct dialogue and through a series of surveys. Those data have now been transformed into concrete answers. We used our 30-year experience to return to our origins, when we were in the city and we used to play the role of a real Exchange, as our name suggests. Most of the fairs rely on quantity, we want to focus on quality instead”.
